What is Sunshine Coast Open House?

Sunshine Coast Open House is a free community event, which provides visitors with the rare opportunity to tour architecturally diverse, well-designed, sustainable and historic buildings across the region. The fifth annual Sunshine Coast Open House will be held on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 October 2023 and will feature 28 historic and contemporary buildings from Caloundra to Cooran and from the beach to the Hinterland.

Sunshine Coast Open House is part of the Open House Worldwide network, founded by Open House London in 1992 and now in 45+ cities around the world.

When is Sunshine Coast Open House?

Sunshine Coast Open House 2023 is being staged on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 October 2023.

Do I need to book to attend Sunshine Coast Open House?

Some buildings participating in Sunshine Coast Open House weekend do not require bookings. You simply turn up during the advertised opening hours on Saturday 21 and/or Sunday 22 October. 14 buildings offer pre-booked tours. Online bookings open on Thursday 5th October at 12 noon. Please visit the 2023 Buildings page to book.

Please note that some buildings may be popular and may have queues.

Does it cost to attend Sunshine Coast Open House?

No – Sunshine Coast Open House weekend is a free event for all.

How do I volunteer for Sunshine Coast Open House?

Sunshine Coast Open House invites you to join our team of volunteers in 2023! Sunshine Coast Open House volunteers will be integral to the event’s success. Volunteers will be assigned to one of the participating buildings and provide support by welcoming visitors, assisting with check-in, managing tour groups or lines, and acting as a representative of Sunshine Coast Open House. Volunteer for one shift (typically three to four hours) and receive a limited edition Sunshine Coast Open House tote bag. To volunteer in 2023 visit
