Architect For a day - Thinking of studying Architecture? High school students thinking about studying architecture and design have an opportunity to learn more about the profession at a special workshop. The Australian Institute of Architects Queensland Chapter would like to extend an invitation to students in years 10, 11 and 12 considering a career in architecture and design. Architecture is an influential profession in our global society. It influences the way the built environment is planned, designed, made, and used. Architecture brings together the arts, environmental awareness, sciences, and technology. As an architect, you would play a vital part in shaping the environment in which we live. The Australian Institute of Architects is the peak body representing architects and they can advise you about a future career in architecture. Join us for an interactive workshop where you will work in groups addressing a brief exploring design ideas and real-world constraints, all the while asking questions from our team of architects and university representatives about study and career options. Students will enjoy: Speaking with current graduates, academics and practitioners about architecture, design, planning and sustainability pathways. Learning through making with dynamic and fun activities including model making and design sketching. Hear from architects who will provide an insight about what it is like to be an architect day-to-day. This workshop is made possible by the Australian Institute of Architects. WHEN: Saturday the 14th October, 10 am till 1pm WHERE: Belvista Community Hall, 18 Lomond Cres, Caloundra West FREE EVENT: Advance bookings are essential
