Celebrating Creativity: Announcing the Winner of the 2025 Sunshine Coast Open House Photography Competition
The Sunshine Coast Open House team is delighted to announce the winner of the 2025 Photography Competition — and to extend a huge thank you to everyone who took part this year. Once again, the competition received an inspiring collection of images that captured the spirit, detail, and diversity of architecture across the region.
Across ten days, from 10–19 October, photographers explored Open House buildings and events, interpreting our built environment through their creative lens. Each category – Exterior, Interior, People, Landscape and Timber – offered a fresh perspective on the Sunshine Coast.
The calibre of entries across all categories was incredibly high, reflecting both the talent of participants and the richness of design featured in the Sunshine Coast Open House program.
And the Winner Is…

We are thrilled to congratulate this year’s winning photographer Nik Kahler, whose outstanding work capturing City Hall impressed the judges with its creativity, technical strength, and an unusual angle.
We are also thrilled to announce the winner of the Student Category — Sienna Topp, whose coloureful image of Moon Mountain Sanctuary beautifully captured the incredible landscape and the whimsical sculpture found in this extraordinary place.

Sunshine Coast Open House received a number of strong images this year and we will be highliting these through December so keep an eye on our Instagram and Facebook pages to discover all of the great images captured during Sunshine Coast Open House 2025!
