The Mudjimba Beach House is an understated character style two-storey residence inspired by traditional weatherboard beach houses and a “modern Queenslander” vernacular. The house features a U-shaped or courtyard style plan arrangement, with all of the main living spaces and self-contained guest quarters on the ground floor, with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and additional rumpus / second living room on the upper floor. There is a beautiful natural light (particularly in the mornings as the central courtyard space faces east) visual connectedness and changing volumes throughout due to the changes in levels and double height spaces through the heart of the house.
